WAZUGNL 11: SharePoint Connections in Amsterdam

Maandag 19 november 2012 was er een bijeenkomst van de Nederlandse Windows Azure User Group. We hadden twee interessante sessies in petto van welbekende sprekers. Dit evenement werd georganiseerd aan de vooravond van de SharePoint Connections conferentie in Amsterdam. Zij sponsoredn theater De Meervaart als onze locatie. QNH was zo vriendelijk om de catering te sponsoren. 
SharePoint Connections keynote spreker Steve Fox (Microsoft) gaf een introductie rondom SharePoint 2013 en legde uit waarom Windows Azure zo belangrijk is voor SharePoint 2013. Onze eigen Dennis Mulder liet zien hoe je SharePoint 2013 kunt draaien op Windows Azure Virtual Machines.

SharePoint is a broad enterprise and web platform. SharePoint 2013 introduces new mechanisms for building, deploying and hosting custom code solutions with the new “App” model. In this session, we'll examine why SharePoint Apps have been introduced and in what way Azure developers can benefit from SharePoint. We will also look in to the enhancements in the Client Side Object Model and the new REST APIs which will help you build SharePoint Apps. During this session the different scenarios are outlined using demos and after this session attendees will be ready to build Apps in SharePoint 2013.
• 20:45u-21:45u Sessie 2: Dennis Mulder (Microsoft) - Windows Azure for SharePoint Professionals
Never before have you been able to do so much with SharePoint and Windows Azure. This session will provide an overview of the different ways in which you can build and deploy SharePoint solutions using Windows Azure. Specifically, you'll learn how you can use the new Windows Azure Virtual Machines to "lift and shift" SharePoint instances, leverage Windows Azure and Windows Azure SQL Database to deploy and integrate applications with SharePoint, and design and deploy complete cloud-based solutions integrating SharePoint Online and Windows Azure.
