WAZUGNL 31: TamTam (Amsterdam)

Donderdag 12 mei 2016 was er een bijeenkomst van de Nederlandse Microsoft Azure User Group. Dit keer was TamTam zo vriendelijk om de locatie in Amsterdam te sponsoren en we hadden twee interessante sessies op het programma.

18:35u–19:30u Sessie 1: Carlos Sardo (TamTam) - Azure Functions under the hood

In this session we will introduce, explore and go hands-on with the new compute-on-demand experience. We cover the basics: What are Azure Functions? What can you do with it? What are the main features? But also more advanced topics like scaling, continuous integration  and debugging. Of course we will explain these concepts by using demos and showing you source code!

19:40u–20:40u Sessie 2: Arjen Bos (FanFiber) - FanFiber international e-commerce platform

FanFiber is an international e-commerce platform, hosted on Azure, with a local approach by providing localized content. Having several YouTube stars using the merchandise platform, it has to be able to handle high traffic peaks when a new video is uploaded. With large amounts of fans flooding the site in a short amount of time, the platform was designed with scalability in mind. We will show what steps we took to keep the platform fast and scalable, and look at the challenges we had to face.
